Correspondence regarding the imprisonment and defence of Martin Escalante, a Society colporteur, who was arrested for selling the Scriptures. Escalante was imprisoned in May 1859 and released in June 1860.

Apparently a late 19th century revision of Valera’s version. Part of St. Luke has been typeset and is corrected and endorsed "checked wih Mr. Sala," i.e. Pedro Sala, the Catalán translator, who assisted E. Reeves Palmer with the revision of the 1888 Catalán. (DM 8653).
